WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN HIRING A ROOFING COMPANY?

1. Experience and Licenses of Roofing Company

Do you really want your roof to be a guinea pig for a new roofing contractor? It is important to not only ask the roofing company how long they have been in business, but how long the contractors who are handling your roof have been installing for. Not to mention, if they have experience with the roofing system you’re looking to install. 

Two other important questions to ask are if they are a licensed roofing contractor and carry insurance. Before starting any project, make sure the workers provide verification of all licensing requirements, including personal liability insurance, and show proof that they are insured and covered by workers’ compensation insurance. A reputable roofing company is going to hold all of these before stepping foot on your property. 

2. Analyze Roofing Companies Past Work and Reviews

Experienced, knowledgeable contractors work hard to satisfy their customers and to build a good reputation for the future. The company should gladly direct you to a reputable source, where you can find real reviews from real people. Because a roof is something you may only buy once or twice in your lifetime, you want to make sure you are going with a good, reliable company that has plenty of experience. 

3. Roofing Companies Warranties and Price

Sometimes the lowest price isn’t always the best option. For example, going with the lowest price may lead to problems later down the road, such as interior damage due to water and mildew. You want a high-quality job, but also a phenomenal job. 

Also, be sure to ask about everything that is included. Will the crew pick up all the debris? What materials are being used? How will the contractor handle unforeseen damage? What kind of warranties are included? Warranties will generally cover labor, as well as materials and workmanship. Don’t sign anything until you have all your answers.
